A Christmas greeting from Amelie
Head of School Amelie Eriksson Karlström takes the opportunity to say a few words about the past year and send Christmas greetings to all employees at CBH School.
It has been an intense year for many employees, and I do not believe that I am alone in looking forward to having a few days off over the Christmas and New Year holidays.
During 2025, the work of the school faculty boards has developed further, and the board is now responsible for teacher recruitment, affiliations, adjunct appointments and associate professor matters. The board has formed two committees, an employment committee and an associate professor committee, which handle much of this work. During the year, the CBH School has hired three new assistant professors and one lecturer – a warm welcome to the school! In addition, three associate professors have been promoted to professors, and a total of nine people have been appointed as docents. It is gratifying when our employees earn merits and achieve new qualifications!
In 2025, the school's activities have developed well in terms of both research and education. In education, we have worked on establishing two new master's programmes: one in data-driven health, which admitted its first students in the autumn semester of 2025, and one in molecular biotechnology and bioinformatics, which will start in the autumn of 2026. It will be exciting to see how our students like the new programmes! Another new development is the investment in learning centres within the foundation year programme, which is being tested for the first time this academic year. The project will be evaluated in the spring.
However, many of the issues we have been working on in 2025 will continue next year: further development of the range of courses on offer, increased access to maker spaces and experimental environments, faculty development, improved working environment and new research initiatives. I look forward to the new year at CBH School, but first I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Amelie
