Mikael about the HR conference

Published May 04, 2022

Head of School Mikael Lindström writes about his participation in CBH's HR conference, the ongoing survey prior to the merger of operational support at KTH and a brief update from the Ukraine group.

On Tuesday, I participated in the CBH School's HR conference to talk about the school's educational and research visions to meet societal challenges. It is great to see the enthusiasm that exists within the group to support the school, not only with the routine processes but also with developing our work environment together with managers and employees. We now have a regular HR function manager in Lena Niemi Birgersdotter. We wish you all the best in the role!

The work of mapping what is done at school and central KTH level is now being carried out prior to the creation of a joint organization for operational support on 1 January 2023. At CBH, we have great opportunities to tell what support we find important to have close to the operation. Comments can be submitted to me, administrative manager Marie Larson and our function managers. A prefect group will also be formed with two prefects from each school. Cecilia Williams and Istvan Furo will participate on our behalf, to capture the need from an institutional perspective.

A short update from KTH's Ukraine group: The real estate department has set up a computer room that can be used by students and researchers from Ukraine who are in Stockholm. A document with guidelines for the employment of researchers and guest professors is now on social and you can contact me for more information. We have asked for clarification regarding what applies to the preparation of applications for guest professors, as it was missing. As the ITM School’s pilot regarding the employment of a guest professor has swept through our bureaucracy, it has resulted in the dean describing a procedure to more quickly adopt these people as guest professors. We now believe that new cases will be able to be handled much faster.
