Head of school Mikael Lindström writes about KTH President Sigbritt Karlsson's most recent visit to the CBH School and about the election to the school's new strategic council.

On Monday, KTH's president, deputy president and university director visited the CBH School. We started at Campus Flemingsberg, where we got to take part in a very inspiring project-based education in creative environments. Anders Cajander and Linus Remahl showed how MakerSpace is used in teaching and Jonas Willén told how students can evaluate different sensors in a structured gym environment. Massimiliano Colarieti Tosti showed how the students are build their own magnetic X-ray.

The visit continued to Campus Vallhallavägen, where Daniel Söderberg, Fredrik Rosén and Korneliya Gordeyeva told us about dissemination techniques and how they can be used in modern materials research.

Two flagships of the CBH School were also presented:

  • AdBIOPRO (Advanced BioProduction by Continuous Processing), an exciting competence center in bioproduction led by Veronique Chotteau, with applications in gene therapy and an impressive commitment from the biotech industry at the center.
  • “Spatial transcriptomics”, this year's method in Nature Methods last year and both the method and the research, led by Joakim Lundeberg, continue to receive a lot of attention.

Finally, there was a demonstration of spreading technology in a lab environment with Damien Daniel Pierce and fiber spinning at the nano level with Mu-Rong Wang.

I want to thank everyone who participated during the day and gave the President, Deputy President and university director a very good picture of our successful school.
