Mikael about KTH’s THE ranking

Published Oct 26, 2022

Head of School Mikael Lindström writes about KTH's placement in this year's Times Higher Education World University Ranking.

At the beginning of October, we learned of KTH's position in this year's Times Higher Education World University Ranking. KTH goes from being in the 201-250 range last year to being ranked 155th among the world's universities, and it is above all reputation in the research world and the citation indicator that contribute to the increase.

We have also learned of KTH's placements in this year's THE Subject ranking. KTH is ranked in the subjects Engineering & Technology, Computer science and Physical sciences. Compared to last year, KTH moves from place 68 to 53 in Engineering & Technology. The rise is primarily due to KTH's improved reputation in education and research. Within Computer science, KTH moves from 85th to 77th place, and even there the rise is mainly due to an improved reputation in education and research. When it comes to Physical sciences, KTH goes from being in the range 151-175 to 126-150 and the rise is mainly due to improvements in terms of citations.

Warm thanks to all of you who, in all your different roles, make these results possible!

Mikael
