Lena Birgersdotter is the new HR manager at the CBH School. Two new group leaders have also been appointed – one of whom is deputy HR manager.

How does it feel to start in your new role?

“I am very happy for confidence put in me and think it will be fun to support such an exciting workplace! We have knowledgeable HR colleagues in the group and right now, we are creating a new way of working that will better support managers in their leadership. Change takes time, but what was started a couple of years ago is beginning to have an effect now, and I want to continue with that work,” says Lena Birgersdotter.

What did you work with before?

”I have been acting HR manager since 1 March this year. Before that, I was responsible for work environment and labor law at the CBH School for 1.5 years. And before that, I worked as an expert at the Swedish Work Environment Authority on the rules on systematic work environment work. I also have previous managerial experience and experience of research in the work environment area.”

What changes have been made within the HR unit?

”You will find someone from HR at each campus on Wednesdays, which can be good to know. Two people have been given new roles: Emma Ohlsson is the group leader for those who work towards specific institutions abd Ove Strind is the group leader for those who work across the whole school (eg teacher appointments, self-reporting, side jobs, fees and pay audits). Ove is also deputy HR manager. These are roles that were introduced in the autumn of 2020, but as we have only had acting HR managers since then, it took some time until we were able to staff the roles. This means that the role of HR manager will not be as burdensome and thus may be more accessible for all employees. It also means that our colleagues within the HR unit will get better support and more present group leaders. We now work together within the entire HR unit for long-term and sustainable solutions for us who work with HR and for all of you who need HR support.

What is the plan for the summer?

“For the summer, we have holidays planned from June 15 to August 28. During that period, we cover for each other, so when your HR contact is on holiday, you can get help with most things through hr@cbh-kth.se .
