Treesearch starts virtual conference series

Published Mar 23, 2020

As more and more scientific conferences are being cancelled due to the new coronavirus, Treesearch and WWSC want to contribute to keeping an open scientific discussion going by starting a virtual conference series, available online.

Every Tuesday at 10.15 and Thursday at 13.15 they aim to stream a presentation from the ongoing research, presented by PIs, doctoral students and postdocs via Treesearch’s Youtube channel .

"We realized that there was a need for a forum where you could have scientific discussions during these special times," says Daniel Söderberg, director of Treesearch and researcher at WWSC.

Daniel was also the first to present on Tuesday. The premiere was successful; the stream had 55 followers and the discussion that followed showed an engaged live audience. On Wednesday night, the presentation had 175 views.

The series will continue in the spring and several CBH researchers are among the upcoming speakers. Next is Eva Malmström who on March 26 presents Polymers are enabling molecular engineering of the interface in cellulose-containing bionanocomposites.
