Here you will find consolidated information about what happens after your arrival—from practical matters such as employment and salary to support services, health, and social activities. The aim is to provide you with a clear introduction to your doctoral studies and access to all the support you may need.
Your start at KTH
- Contact with your supervisor.
- Most schools provide preparatory information, either online or through a welcome letter.
- On-site introduction by HR, which may be conducted in a group or individually; in some cases, this information is provided via Zoom.
- Information about salary, terms of employment, departmental affiliation, relevant contact persons (such as Director of Third Cycle Education, doctoral education officer, HR officer, etc.), and other practical matters.
- Information about taxation, insurance, banking, and visa/migration regulations (if applicable).
Practical matters
- Your supervisor will show you around, introduce you to your workplace, and present you to colleagues.
- Ensure that you have access to KTH’s systems and IT resources, such as email and KTH-HR.
