KTH organizes a PhD Introduction once every semester for new doctoral students. The introduction provides an overview of KTH’s activities and the functions, support and resources available to doctoral students throughout their studies.
During the introduction, new doctoral students have the opportunity to learn about and receive information from, among others, KTH Innovation, KTH Library and KTH Relocation. They also receive information about professional development and career support available during their time as a doctoral student.
The introduction also provides practical guidance on the administration of doctoral studies and the Individual Study Plan (ISP), as well as information on important matters to be aware of as a new doctoral student at KTH.
THS and the PhD Chapter also participate in the introduction, presenting the student union’s activities and the support available to doctoral students. The PhD Chapter is part of THS and represents doctoral students in matters including student influence and doctoral students’ rights.
The PhD Introduction also provides an opportunity to meet representatives from different parts of KTH and THS, and to connect with other new doctoral students.
The introduction is held once in the autumn and once in the spring. Information about upcoming introductions and registration is published on the KTH website.
