Stolen or lost hardware

Information about what you need to do in case your KTH owned hardware such as computer, phone or tablet been stolen or lost so that KTH can block and lock the hardware.

Checklist for theft or loss of hardware:

  • Report the incident to your immediate supervisor
  • Report theft or loss via the Police website, police report
  • Change your KTH account password if you have another device to do it on, Change password
  • Change your network secret for Wi-Fi network by creating a new one, Retrieve existing or create a new eduroam network secret
  • Change your personal account password such as Google, Apple ID, etc. if you had these connected to stolen or lost hardware
  • Notify KTH IT Support about theft of computer, it-support@kth.se . In the e-mail, please send the following information:
    • School you work at
    • Whether it is a desktop or laptop computer that has been stolen or lost
    • If it is a platform computer (KTH Windows, KTH Mac or KTH Ubuntu) or if the computer is self-managed
    • Computer name or serial number if you have that information
  • Notify Teleservice about theft of phone or tablet, so that they can block the SIM card and phone at Tele2, Lost / stolen mobile phone
  • Delete the stolen or lost device (phone or tablet) via KTH Webmail, Delete stolen / lost devices via KTH Webmail
