Dear all,

Today I’m happy to announce that we have finalized two top recruitments at MMK. These two are world-renowned in their various areas, and you have likely heard about them and encountered them in your career.

First, Mia Hesselgren (KTH | Mia Hesselgren) has been offered a position as an assistant professor (biträdande lektor) in Industrial Design Engineering with specialization on Sustainable Development. This is a tenure track position with opportunities for promotion to associate professor and professor. We had many highly ranked candidates for this position, the competition was fierce, but in the end we got the absolute top candidate. Mia will join the design group at the IPD unit and contribute to the research and education mainly in the design group, but will also continue as research leader at ITRL.

Second, Daniel Frede (KTH | Daniel Frede) has been offered a position as lecturer (adjunkt in Swedish, sometimes also translated to assistant professor in English) in Mechatronics. This is a faculty position, also with many applicants and strong competition. Daniel will join the Mechatronics group and mainly teach Mechatronics, as well as spread a positive atmosphere among his colleagues (same as Mia).

These two members have actually been employed at MMK for quite some time (as you all know), and, by knowing them, we are not surprised that they ranked highest in these evaluations.

I am anyhow very happy to make this announcement, and I congratulate MMK as well as Mia and Daniel.

With that said, we also need to continue our efforts at making sure that MMK members have the job position that matches the work that they do, and that we do have engaging career opportunities at KTH.

Best,

Martin
