About the talk
Technology is often presented as neutral – as a response to needs, problems and possibilities. But which problems are recognised as worth solving, whose needs are prioritised and which assumptions are built into the technologies we create?
In this talk, Katrine Kielos will explore the relationship between gender and technology and invite us to question ideas that can easily appear natural or self-evident.
Looking differently at the technologies around us can also open up new possibilities. What happens when we challenge familiar assumptions – and what other technologies, societies and futures might we then be able to imagine?
