Dear all,

Last week we spent two days at an external conference facility with the senior staff of MMK to discuss future developments, with focus on industrial collaboration. On the first day we had presentations by our adjunct professors to learn how we work together in general and to look at best practices on our collaborations with their companies. There is a mutual benefit from these collaborations, from academic view it helps us to get specific competence and to ensure industrial relevance of our education. We participated in a workshop arranged by Scania on future scenarios, to better understand how the world around us changes, and how this might affect our activities. We also did a team-building exercise, and the winning team was awarded a nice trophy which now is placed in the lunch area on our fourth floor.

Last week we were visited by the KTH head of security and safety, Christina Boman, who informed us about risks and threats to our work environment. Nothing urgent per se, but there will be more signs posted, encouraging us not to let unauthorized people into our corridors etc.

Last week I also chaired an event organized by the KTH Platform for Industrial Transformation, for which I happen to be part of the management. We had over 100 attendees from academia and industry discussing the industrial transition to a circular economy.

Beside the above, this week is the final week of this teaching period, busy with exams, reporting and preparation for the next teaching period which starts next week.

Best,

Martin
