Danielsson and Laurell now memebers of IVA

Mats Danielsson, Department of Physics and Fredrik Laurell, Department of Applied Physics at SCI School, KTH, is among 18 people from the academy and business sector who were elected as members of the the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA) at the latest academy meeting.
Mats Danielsson has been honored to be elected to the Division of Basic and Interdisciplinary Engineering Sciences at IVA. He is a professor of medical imaging and has 27 international patents and has created three spinoff companies in medical technology. The most well-known product is used in over 30 countries for early detection of breast cancer.
Even Fredrik Laurell was elected into the Division of Basic and Interdisciplinary Engineering Sciences. He is a professor of physics with a focus on laser physics and photonics at KTH. Photonics provides new methods that affect several technology areas, from manufacturing and energy sectors to health and communication.
