Important information about Notebook computers

Batteries should be checked

HP recalls some of its sold Notebook computer batteries due to potential fire. If you purchased such a computer from January 1, 2016, you will be affected by this information (Note that Elitebook computers are not affected).

The following list contains potentially affected HP products.

HP 11 Notebook PC

HP recommends you to verify all batteries supplied with the notebook (including those purchased as accessories or spare parts, or have been offered as compensation options of customer support). Another option is to collect serial number if you have many computers and then send to HP at the email address for further information.
If you are concerned, you should update the BIOS so that the computer is set to "Battery Safety Mode" and can then use its computer with a power cord without charging the battery. When the new battery is installed, the BIOS will indicate this by activating the charging function.
