About the exhibition

This exhibition highlights KTH’s research—developed in close collaboration with society—that addresses today’s sustainability challenges and actively drives the transformations needed for a better future. Designed as an accessible popular science exhibition, it targets a broad audience, including KTH students, staff, and the general public.

We aim to demonstrate how KTH’s research leads to tangible and transformative solutions in areas such as food, health, water, climate, energy, mobility, materials, digitalization, and more. Our goal is to spark curiosity, inspire hope, and show that a sustainable future is not only possible — it is already being created through education and research at KTH.

The exhibition opens on 1 February 2027 and will be on display throughout the year. It is organized in collaboration between KTH 200 Years, KTH Sustainability Office, KTH Library, and Research Support Office.

Submission guidelines

  •  You may submit a maximum of one proposal per person. For joint applications, appoint a main applicant who will be responsible for communication with the exhibition organizers. The main applicant must be affiliated with KTH, but this is not required for the other applicants.
  • Briefly describe your research and how it contributes to a sustainable future. Write in an accessible way so that it is understandable even to someone unfamiliar with the research field. Attach a short, separate list of references.
  • State whether you have objects, images, films, or similar materials that you would like to display in the exhibition. You are also welcome to describe any other ideas you may have for presenting your research. A design agency will ensure that the exhibition has a professional design.
  • You are welcome to include a link to photos, sketches, or other images of what you intend to exhibit.

Selection and expert group

An expert group from KTH will evaluate all submitted proposals based on how well they meet the guidelines above. The exhibition should represent KTH’s research areas as well as the diversity within the university.
