President and Management
The President is the head of authority and manages the activities directly under the University Board. The management team immediately below the President consists of the Deputy President, the University Director, the Deputy University Director, the Vice President for Research, the Vice President for International Relations, the Dean of Faculty and the Vice Dean of Faculty.
President and Deputy President
President (Rektor)
Responsibilities and tasks
The President is the head of authority and is directly responsible to the University Board. The President is responsible for all matters for which the University Board is not responsible, unless otherwise prescribed or decided. The division of work between the Board and the President is set out in the rules of procedure at KTH (arbetsordning vid KTH). The President is a member of the University Board. The President shall keep the Board informed of the activities, provide the Board with documentation for decisions and is responsible for ensuring that the Board's decisions are implemented.
The President deals with matters primarily at the Presidents decision-making meetings.
Term of office
The President has been appointed by the Government from 2022-12-01 to 2028-11-30.
Deputy President (Prorektor)
Responsibilities and tasks
Deputy President takes decisions on behalf of the President. The Deputy President also replaces the President to the extent that the President decides. The division of work between the President and the Deputy President is set out in the delegation regulations for KTH and other decisions. The Deputy President has overall coordination responsibility for KTH's strategic research funding and strategic collaboration.

The Deputy President has been appointed by the University Board from 2023-01-01 to 2028-12-31.
The University Director
Responsibilities and tasks
The University Director is the head of the University Administration. The University Director also has tasks as set out in the rules of procedure at KTH, the delegation regulations for KTH and other decisions. The University Director deals with matters primarily at the University Director's decision-making meetings.
The Deputy University Director
Responsibilities and tasks
The Deputy Director is the deputy to the Director and has the tasks decided by the Director. The Deputy Director is the Head of Management Office.
The Vice President for Research
Responsibilities and tasks
The Vice President for Research has overall coordination responsibility for strategic research areas and for research platforms. The Vice President for Research also has other tasks as stated in the delegation regulations for KTH and in other decisions, such as the guideline on the management of research centers. The Vice President for Research chairs forskningsberedningen.
The Vice President for Research is the Deputy President’s deputy.

The Vice President for Research has been appointed by the President from 2023-03-01 to 2026-02-28.
The Vice President for International Relations
Responsibilities and tasks
The Vice President for International Relations has overall coordination responsibility for the university's work on responsible internationalization, for priority regions, university alliances and for strategic university partnerships. The Vice President for International Relations also has other tasks as set out in delegation regulations for KTH.

The Vice President for International Relations has been appointed by the President from 2023-03-01 to 2026-02-28.
The Dean of Faculty
Responsibilities and tasks
The dean of Faculty chairs the Faculty Council and has tasks that follow from steering documents and other decisions, e.g. in Guideline to the appointments procedure.
Term of office
The Dean of Faculty is elected by the university's teachers and researchers from 2024-01-01 to 2027-12-31.
The Vice Dean of Faculty
Responsibilities and tasks
The Vice Dean of Faculty is vice chair of the Faculty Council.
