Collegial competence development with a focus on subject didactics
The project involves developing, testing and evaluating a method that strengthens the subject didactic conversations with the aim to identify the subject didactic challenges and thus increase subject didactic competence of the teachers at KTH.
Project context
Essential subject knowledge is a prerequisite for our graduates to meet tomorrow's complex challenges. Learning in each subject differs, and every subject and discipline has its own challenges and puts different requirements on how learning is organiszed. The subject didactic challenges vary across different programmes and courses. An increased focus on subject didactics not only impacts students' knowledge development but can also enhance quality and improve student completion.
Purpose (outcome)
The purpose of the project is to increase KTH’s focus on subject didactics, which may lead to improved students' knowledge development, enhanced quality and increased student completion, by developing and strengthening the subject didactic discussions at KTH and enhance subject didactic competence.
Project results (output)
A format for collegial subject didactic professional development, via subject didactic discussions with focus on the subject didactic challenges.
