This project is implemented at the School of Industrial Engineering and Management (ITM) within the Future Education programme (project no. 2510-ITM).

Project context

Several projects have been started at ITM within the framework of the Future Education at KTH (FrU). The FrU programme management designs an overall process, documents and follow-up support from a KTH perspective, but there is no process description for project managers and other actors at the school (e.g. Directors of First and Second Cycle Education, GA), which both meets the school's needs and can be integrated with the FrU process. Such a process description should be linked to interim goals and milestones, dissemination of results, value creation and utilisation. There has also been a lack of a structured form for the school's own follow-up of progress, i.e. how the project managers of the projects report and deliver in a structured way, which overall has meant that the project management of the various development projects has been fluid so far.

Purpose (outcome)

The project aims to contribute to value creation and utilisation in the ITM school's development projects, through a project model/process description that describes how ITM can lead and run development projects where the results are applied and utilized in the operations, and to develop ITM's call for educational projects 2026 within the framework of Future Education programme, based on this model.

The impact goal of the project "Project Management" can therefore be described as increasing project maturity at ITM with regard to educational development projects within the framework of the Future Education programme.

Project results (output)

  • Needs analysis

  • Project model: concrete tools in the form of templates and/or process description.

Together, these parts form an 'operating system', which describes how ITM can lead and run development projects where the results are applied and utilized in the business.
