The Future Education change programme was initiated in the autumn of 2022. At that time, the principle framework was decided upon, and a programme management team was appointed. The full timeline from when the need was identified can be found below.
Need identified
At the end of 2019, the need for strategic long-term work on KTH's future education is identified. Then the Covid pandemic came, and the work was delayed.
Assignment by the President
In the business plan for 2021, the President gives two assignments: The vice-chancellor for education and the education board (UN) receives an assignment concerning the future of education. At the same time, the vice-chancellor for digitalization receives an assignment regarding the digitalization of education. To avoid duplication of work, the two assignments are merged into an investigative work run by the UN.
Framework report
In February 2022, the UN work group delivers the report "A Framework for Future Education at KTH" to the President. The so-called "framework report" consists of two parts: an analytical part and a proposal for a
framework with 13 principles
showing the target objective of KTH's work with strategic education development. During spring, the principles are anchored in various arenas and groupings for education development at KTH, and some reformulations are made.
