How can my students become active co-creators instead of a passive audience?
Teachers’ experiences of moving education online during the pandemic indicate a feeling of decreased presence, both from students and teachers' sides. What can teachers do to increase presence in relation to digital education? Welcome to this Lunch 'n' Learn webinar on student-active teaching methods using digital tools.
Time: Wed 2021-10-20 12.15 - 13.00
Location: Online via Zoom
Language: Swedish
Participating: Oliver Andersson, Tove Kvarnmalm Kjellberg
The webinar will be held in Swedish and will be recorded.
How can I make my students more active using Zoom, Canvas and Mentimeter?
When we learn we do so by, among other things, observing and interacting with others. As a teacher you must create and organise an environment and activities which encourage the interaction between students. Teaching and learning occur in social contexts with social presence built on reliance. How can you reach that with your students?
We will focus on the more practical parts of this work. The webinar’s primary focus will be which tools you can use to create a learning environment that activates, challenges and motivates your students. It is for you who work with education and teaching at KTH targeted to teachers that want to make their students more active during digital lectures.
This webinar can be considered a follow-up to our previous Lunch 'n' Learn titled "Digital meetings and active student engagement" (KTH Play) where Stefan Stenbom stressed principles and guidelines to create and maintain digital meetings marked by active learning in courses conducted fully or partly online.
