Welcome to a joint research seminar between KTH, SLU and Örebro University!

Published Oct 13, 2020

As three academic development units engaged with research on academic development and other aspects of higher education from a multidisciplinary perspective, we thought it might be valuable to meet across institutions around common research interests.

We hope you’ll be able to join us on Friday 20 November at 13.30-15.30

As a current example of research on the complexity of academic development work within contemporary universities, we’ll be reading chapter 4 of the the recent study
Leading Higher Education As and For Public Good: Rekindling Education as Praxis (Routledge, 2020).
The chapter treats the complex webs of commitment in which academic developers negotiate between vertical and horizontal commitments. The book is a result of the Formation and Competence Building of University Academic Developers project, funded by the Norwegian research council, and led by Tone Dyrdal Solbrekke who’s currently a visiting professor in Örebro.

We hope that this seminar will provide an arena for mutual exchange and development of research ideas in our field. Just get in touch if you have any questions, of course.

With all good wishes,

Cecilia, Lars and Kristin
