Understanding the impact of high energy electron precipitation on the middle atmosphere is a key issue in space weather and magnetosphere-ionosphere coupling. In particular, clarifying the connection between pulsating aurora and bursts of relativistic electron precipitation has been a long-standing challenge. To address this, we conducted sounding rocket experiments designed to provide direct observations of pulsating aurora and associated relativistic electron fluxes. In this seminar, we will present the results from our sounding rocket observations, including electron measurements and optical auroral data. We will also discuss related numerical simulations and coordinated ground-based observations that support our interpretation of the phenomena. Finally, we will outline future perspectives, including plans for collaboration with KTH,
to advance our understanding of the role of high-energy electrons in atmospheric processes.
