Processing of personal data
Information about the processing of personal data in connection with events at KTH
KTH’s data retention policy is based on the notion that KTH will only keep data if there is a legal basis to do so. By registering for an event you consent to having your details processed in accordance with these regulations which are further outlined on this page.
Data controller
KTH as data controller determines the purposes for which and the means by which, personal data is processed in relation to events.
Purpose of collecting personal data
KTH collects personal data during the event process for the following purposes:
- To manage attendees at the event
- To send out pre-event information
- For distribution of event material and presentations
- For post-event survey
Storing personal data
We retain your personal data for as long as it is necessary to fulfil the purposes for which they are processed. Personal data in official documents is stored in accordance with the Freedom of the Press act, the Archive Act and the regulations instituted by the National Archives of Sweden. Dependant on the situation this means your data may be destroyed after a short amount of time or kept in KTH’s archives indefinitely.
Documentation
The event may be documented through recordings and still photography for usage in KTH’s media channels. You will be given the opportunity to notify us during the event should you not wish to be present in recordings or photos.
Information about your personal data
Please contact dataskydd@kth.se to obtain information about your personal data and what KTH processes.
Correction and deletion
KTH will at your request or on its own initiative, correct and/or amend personal data that is incorrect or incomplete.
You have a right to have personal data erased or to restrict its processing. You can also ask KTH to stop processing your personal data altogether. Please contact dataskydd@kth.se for corrections, to have your data deleted or to stop the processing of your data.
To note, a request for erasure will not automatically be granted by KTH. KTH reserves the right to decline your request based on your personal data being necessary for the purpose of the processing. Another cause of rejection is the requirement to archive official documents.
The Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection governs rules for the processing of personal data
