Unpublishing an article

Articles are easily unpublished from a department’s content list. Just perform the following steps:

Ta bort

Open the department where the article is published in view mode. Go to the content list where the article is listed. Unpublish the article by clicking the remove icon at the right.

Note that this operation only removes the article from the current content list and thereby the department’s menu on the public site. It is still public in the meaning that the article still can be found on its former web address and will be continuously listed in the result lists of the search engines. The article can also still exist in one or more other departments content lists and public menus.

To unpublish the article in all of the content lists where it appears and make it inaccessible on the public site do the following:

  1. Open the article template
  2. Click the "Unpublish" button
  3. The article turns into non-public state and is greyed out in the department content lists
  4. Optional: Also click the Remove icon in the content lists if you want to clear the list from nonpublic content

Note that unpublishing is not the same as deleting the article from the system: the article can still be found with the help of the search functions and can be re-published by using the "Public" button.
