Additive Manufacturing: Current and Future
In this Docent lecture Sasan Dadbakhsh will outline the future directions for AM innovation and research at the Department of Production engineering. This is to provide fellow academics a comprehensive overview of the AM activities at the department, fostering dialogue and potential collaborations.

About the lecture
KTH and Department of Production engineering (IPU) has almost 30 years of history of addressing the disruptive nature of additive manufacturing (AM). In 2016 a renewed set of activities were started to exploit the potentials metal AM. This initiative raised to the next level in 2019 when Dr Sasan Dadbakhsh joined the department as an assistant professor.
Now after 6 years, Sasan has become an associate professor with a focus on AM, while two PhD students and many master students are already graduated. With an aim to create a distinguished and interdisciplinary AM group at the department, his research focus include: 1) hybrid additive manufacturing, 2) AM process optimisations, and 3) interdisciplinary AM-related investigations. In parallel to research, education initiatives have been set in a variety of courses with an interest in AM.
Emphasising on the past and current research, looking ahead, Dr Sasan Dadbakhsh will outline the future directions for AM innovation and research at the department (IPU) in this docent lecture.
