Lunch seminar: The Swedish program for new nuclear

Carl Berglöf

Carl Berglöf is Sweden’s National Nuclear New-build Coordinator since February 2024. He leads efforts to support the expansion of new nuclear power and serves as the government’s key contact on nuclear energy issues. Berglöf holds a PhD in reactor physics from KTH and previously worked as a nuclear expert at the Swedish association of energy companies - Swedenergy.

The presentation will cover an overview of the activities that are currently ongoing in the preparation for new nuclear plants in Sweden. That includes regulatory and financial aspects as well as capacity building in terms of competence and workforce.
