A trust-based organisation, KTH’s vital role in sustainable development, developing lifelong learning, and boosting KTH’s experimental environments.
These were some of the matters raised by Mikael Lindström, proposed as the new Deputy President, during his presentation and hearing.

Speaking to almost 80 people on site in Alfvénsalen and 110 online, the Head of School of CBH outlined his views on KTH’s future and development, his own role as Deputy President and thereby also as the President’s deputy.
“I hope to be able to bring to the table a trust-based style of leadership and an innovative, confidence-inspiring climate, the point of departure being that everyone does their best,” he said.

Mikael Lindström was proposed by KTH’s nominating committee, after being selected from a raft of strong candidates, according to Pia Sandvik, who chairs the committee. The job requirements included good familiarity with KTH, and the applicant had to be a well-established researcher in the field of engineering or natural science.

Mikael Lindström finished his presentation by saying:

“I hope that with my skills and experience, I can help Anders and the rest of the KTH management in the work of honing KTH’s visions and moving forwards.”

There was then a Q&A session covering everything from employment procedures to gender equality.

The board will make a decision on the Deputy President on 23 November, and if everything goes to plan Mikael Lindström will take up his new post on 1 January 2023.
