Credit transfer of courses and other activities
Courses or other activities completed during your PhD studies that are not established courses at KTH must be credited in order to receive higher education credits for the activity undertaken.
- Make sure that the course/activity is included in the Individual Study Plan.
-
Gather all supporting documentation, such as certificates, transcripts, or similar, and, if needed, the validation form (docx 73 kB) *.
-
If you are enrolled in the subject Biotechnology, send the documents to Christina Divne (divne@kth.se). All others should complete the FO-TRAK form (dotx 90 kB) and send it together with the documentation to phdadmin@cbh.kth.se .
How to fill in FO-TRAK after attending a workshop or similar:
Under Course Name, write the name of the workshop, the start and end dates, where it was held (city, country), and in parentheses what you did.
Under University, write the name of the organisation behind the workshop.
Electronic signatures are perfectly acceptable.
*The validation form should be used for a course or workshop (national or international) that is not established at a Swedish university. For conferences, the form should not be used.
For more information, see the Canvas pages for doctoral students .
Credit transfer of courses completed prior to doctoral studies
At the time of admission, you may apply to transfer credits from previous studies. Note that the eligibility requirements are 180 credits at bachelor level and 60 credits at master level. You may only transfer credits exceeding these requirements. Also remember that you must earn at least 45 doctoral-level credits out of the 60 credits required for the degree. Therefore, transferring more than 15 credits from a previous master’s programme becomes unnecessary.
