Mikael about the operational plan for 2023

Published Aug 31, 2022

Head of school Mikael Lindström writes about discussing the operational plan for 2023

At the beginning of this week, the Head of schools, Vice Presidents, President, and Deputy President got together with the focus of discussing the operational plan for 2023. I will tell you some of what we talked about below and we will also inform you all during staff meetings etcetera.

information for universities and experts. The universities will start preparing their applications and start recruiting experts during autumn 2022.

In January 2023, the universities will send a short description of the field of their profile areas, a preliminary title and a short description (about half a page). They then get the opportunity to propose experts. As of today we do not know how much funding we will get this way, but for KTH it will have a signal value. Therefore, we need to do this wisely and make sure that as many people as possible are included. We thought of the title Engineering for a better tomorrow and that we would then use our six research platforms  as areas to support the title.

The Vice President for Education explained the principles for Future Education  and connected them to KTH’s work with digitalization. CBH needs to start thinking about how to go about this. A natural step would be in our ordinary programme development. We will get back to this in our teachers’ meetings.

The Vice President for Global relations brought up the continuing work with PhD students shared with partner universities. We have recently introduced 7 PhD positions where CBH was successful. The ambition is to eventually get to the point of 20 or so positions every year, which is a more concrete way to work with our partner universities.
