Amelie on the value of the Employee Pulse surveys
CBH's Head of School Amelie Eriksson Karlström reminds us that the KTH Employee Pulse survey is a very important measurement tool for managers and encourages everyone to respond to the current survey.

This week, everyone at KTH should have received the latest employee pulse survey, which will be open until Wednesday, 26 November. The employee pulse survey is an important tool that we use to monitor the working environment at the university.
The latest employee pulse survey showed a higher pulse index for CBH than for the KTH average, and we had high results in the areas of enthusiasm (positive working climate), inclusion (community in the workplace) and autonomy (mandate to make decisions that are necessary in the role). However, the areas of balance-workload and balance-work/leisure showed poorer results and indicate something we need to work on more. In the school's JML group, we have used the results from the employee survey to discuss differences in responses between men and women, and we have also looked specifically at how the school's doctoral students experience the work environment. In addition to the analyses at school level, heads of department and department managers use the results to see what the situation is like in the local environment and to follow up on the effects of various initiatives.
Unfortunately, the response rate has declined slightly in recent surveys, and I sometimes hear that people do not think there is any point in answering the questions. I would therefore like to emphasise that the employee pulse surveys are very valuable for the school's managers, and I hope that many people will take the time to respond to the survey!
