Amelie on the group for the preparation of research initiatives

Published Jan 10, 2024

Head of School Amelie Eriksson Karlström writes about a new group for the preparation of research initiatives.

Operations are now starting to pick up again after the holidays and most of our staff are back in place. Next week is also the start of the spring term, and our campuses will be in full swing. I myself have started the year by having individual meetings with all the school's Heads of Department to discuss the situation in the departments. I hope that everyone at the school has had a great Christmas and New Year holiday!

Just before Christmas, Vice President for Research Annika Borgenstam, presented the review of KTH's special research initiatives that she has been working on during the autumn. As a result of this review, a group for the preparation of research initiatives is now being formed, led by the Vice President for Research, which will be tasked with preparing a basis for decision-making on various issues, such as funding of research infrastructures and principles for co-financing of externally funded research projects.

The review panel includes a number of KTH professors with extensive experience in research and research funding. From the CBH school, two professors have been appointed to the group: Sophia Hober and Lars Kloo. I have great confidence in both of them and am very pleased that they have agreed to be part of the review panel, which will play an important role at KTH.
