Amelie on the School Faculty Board election

Published Dec 06, 2023

Head of School Amelie Eriksson Karlström writes about the ongoing election for the School Faculty Board and how the new board will function next year.

This week, the elections for the CBH School Faculty Board and for KTH's Faculty Council are taking place. Fortunately, many people at the school ran for the Faculty Board and were willing to contribute to the development of the school. The election committee, led by Paul Hudson, has worked intensively during the autumn and recently presented . I would like to take this opportunity to remind all eligible voters to vote this week!

The Faculty Board will have an important task as a preparatory and decision-making body for various issues in research and education. A number of education related issues will be handled by the Faculty Board from the start, while issues related to teacher recruitment and promotions will be transferred to the board later in 2024. It will be a big change to work with Faculty Boards, but I think it will be good once we have grown accustom to the new way of working!

In connection with the introduction of the School Faculty Board, the School's Strategic Council will be dismantled. The Strategic Council has served as an advisory body to the Head of School and has met about twice a term. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the members of the Strategic Council for the pleasant and fruitful discussions over the past year!
