The CBH Head of School talks about the recent CBH operational dialogue and the work on the school's priority development issues.

Last week, the CBH School had an operational dialogue with KTH's management, where we discussed various current operational issues, such as the school's faculty development and faculty renewal, finances, educational production, risk analysis and reform agenda. KTH's operational plan for 2025-2027 includes a section for each school, a so-called reform agenda, which describes the school's prioritised development issues for the period.

Two new Master's programmes

During the operational dialogue, we reviewed the School's reform agenda and discussed the status of the various activities. I am pleased to say that we have made good progress, especially on the activities related to education. Over the past year, we have developed two new master's programmes, one in data-driven health starting this autumn, and one in molecular biotechnology and bioinformatics, which we hope to launch in autumn 2026.

In close contact with the EECS school, we have been working on the development and profiling of the Bachelor of Science programmes in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering in Flemingsberg, which are partly affected by KTH's campus move from Kista. We have also conducted a review of the qualifying education provided by the school and presented a proposal for the future dimensioning and development of the basic year programme to KTH's management.

Three new cluster coordinators

The School has also worked on developing the organisation and procedures within education and has appointed three cluster coordinators, who work with staffing, budget and follow-up in the School's various educational areas.

I am very pleased to see that the work on the school reform agenda has yielded results, and in the autumn, when we will begin work on the operational plan for 2026-2028, we will be able to conclude some activities and instead set new goals for the school's development. The next reform agenda will be discussed in both the Management Group and the Faculty Board, and there is an opportunity for all staff to provide input.
