Amelie on the operational dialogue
Head of School Amelie Eriksson Karlström writes about the school's upcoming operational dialogue with KTH's management.
The autumn planning of next year's activities is now in full swing and next week the school will have an operational dialogue with KTH's management. At the operational dialogue, we will discuss quality monitoring in education and research, finances, and operational planning for next year. The operational planning is based on the school's reform agenda for 2024-2026 , which will now be updated for the years 2025-2027. Since the current reform agenda was decided as recently as May this year, we are still working on most of the activities and the school will not propose many changes.
In the area of education, for example, we are actively working on the foundation year programmes, where we will take over foundation year places and teachers from the ITM School in connection with the campus move from Södertälje. We have also signed agreements with three different municipalities, Södertälje, Norrtälje and Nynäshamn, on cooperation around foundation year education within the framework of so-called learning centres.
Another issue is education provision, where we have developed a new master's programme in data-driven health and are discussing the further development of the school's education provision in various contexts.
A further important area of the School's reform agenda relates to the sizing, funding and development of the Faculty. Here, we have been working on a mapping exercise of the existing faculty and trying to identify future needs in research and education. The School has also set up a new faculty network, with the aim of providing better support and assistance in the start-up phase for new faculty members. Many of the issues in the reform agenda are still highly relevant and I look forward to continuing to work on them in 2025!
