Amelie: Thank you Istvan!

This week, the management team said goodbye to Istvan Furo, who is leaving his position as Head of the Chemistry Department. Istvan has been Head of Department since the CBH School was established seven years ago, and during that time he has been important both for the development of the Chemistry Department and for the School as a whole. When three schools at KTH were united to form CBH, we needed to get to know each other across departmental boundaries and find new ways of working together, and Istvan has contributed a lot here.

In recent years, Istvan has also been a member of the KTH University Director's Head of Department Council, where he has been very involved and worked to influence the development of the administration. The years as head of department have certainly been challenging in many ways, with the school merger, pandemic, rebuilding in the chemistry quarters, and most recently the challenge of achieving a “balanced economy”, but I hope it has also been fun and rewarding.

Now, I hope that Istvan will have more time to devote to his research and other things he enjoys, and I would like to take this opportunity to welcome the new head of the Department of Chemistry, Peter Dinér. Thank you very much for these years, Istvan, and a warm welcome to your new role, Peter!
