Mikael on returning to normal this autumn

Published May 27, 2021

Head of School Mikael Lindström writes about the President’s decision that the call to work from home will end from 16 August.

The KTH President’s decision that we are to return to normal with work on one of our campuses and an update of the distance agreement have now been processed. The decision on teaching in the autumn term 2021 will come up at the President’s decision meeting in another week.

In the meantime, everyone can get acquainted with the scenario planning regarding education, which, among other things, the Vice President for education and the schools' GA have worked with for a long time. Scenario one with low spread of infection is what we plan for. You will find the updated information regarding continued telework up to and including 15 August, after which individual telework agreements must be drawn up for work from home, under "work on campus and at a distance".

The call to work from home ends on 16 August. Any work from home is then regulated through individual telework agreements between the employee and their manager. Updated information on telework  and a template for telework agreements are available on the intranet. The Government's call for as many people as possible to continue working from home until 15 September applies to all government agencies and is not specifically adapted to the unique situation of universities and colleges. When it comes to what is necessary to run our operations, it is we who can best make that assessment. To start working on site this autumn is best for us, according to an overall assessment by KTH's management.
