Mikael: Welcome back!

Published Aug 18, 2022

Head of school Mikael Lindström warmly welcomes all employees back after the summer and writes about the autumn's work at the CBH School.

I would like to warmly welcome everyone back and I hope that you have had an energizing holiday. The reception of our new students began on Monday. Many students as well as employees are deeply involved in welcoming the new students and you make a fantastic effort! It is fun to see the enthusiasm during these weeks and we now hope that the new students are inspired to take on their studies.

It will be an intense autumn with the work to shape the joint operational support at KTH. You can read more about how the work is progressing at: The road to a joint support services

At CBH, we receive feedback that our operational support works better and better. In a school that is not only large but also geographically spread out, that is great. Many thanks to all the employees in operational support who ensure that we are heading in the right direction.

As usual, we will start the autumn with a strategy day for our management group in September, where we will also discuss new faculty positions at CBH. We have previously been able to advertise around five new positions per year. But this year we will slow down a bit as the ambition is to maintain a certain size of our faculty. Furthermore, we will work with concrete activities linked to the completed the RAE and we will present these at our large school meetings and in our management groups. A concrete measure that has been implemented since July 1 this year is that the department of theoretical chemistry and biology has now moved under the umbrella of the department of chemistry. This is to further strengthen development in the field of chemistry.
