The Wallenberg Foundations

The Wallenberg Foundations is the collective name for the non-profit foundations funded by individual members of the Wallenberg family. The foundations fund excellent researchers and research projects beneficial to Sweden and have approved grants totaling SEK 42 billion since 1917 and SEK 11,4 billion in the last five years.

All applications to the Wallenberg foundations must have a supporting letter from the President of KTH. Therefore, we advise you to contact Research Support Office  at least a month before the closing of a call in order to have time to process this.

Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation

The largest of the Wallenberg Foundations is the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation, founded in 1917, which promotes scientific research within the natural sciences, technology, and medicine.

Marcus and Amalia Wallenberg Foundation

The Marcus and Amalia Wallenberg Foundation (MAW) primarily funds projects of high scientific potential and provides individual support to outstanding scientists with focus on the humanites. The Foundation also initiates programmes to support children’s activities.

Marianne and Marcus Wallenberg Foundation

The Marianne and Marcus WallenbergFoundation (MMW) primarily grants funding for projects related to law, economics and the social sciences. High-priority projects include new research areas and research that is interdisciplinary in nature.
