Strategic Innovation Partnership (SIP) programmes
Strategic Innovation Partnership (SIP) programmes bring together leading actors from academia and the private and public sectors to highlight and define areas where they see a need for joint initiatives and a mustering of forces in Sweden.
Strong KTH participation
In its research bill entitled Kunskap i samverkan – för samhällets utmaningar och stärkt konkurrenskraft (Knowledge in Collaboration – for society’s challenges and enhanced competitiveness), the Swedish government highlighted strategic innovation areas as one of the main initiatives to meet the huge societal challenges Sweden is facing. Since 2013 Vinnova, the Swedish Energy Agency and the Swedish Research Council for Sustainable Development have jointly funded 17 Strategic Innovation Partnership (SIP) programmes, and KTH is taking part in ten of these.
