About ChatGPT service at KTH.

Important to know!

We do not yet know what will happen to any existing data if you already have a ChatGPT account linked to your KTH email address. We have not yet had the opportunity to confirm with OpenAI whether it is possible to synchronize previous material. Therefore, if you already have data in your account, we recommend that you do not accept the invitation until this has been clarified.

Who can use the service

The ChatGPT service is only available to employees at KTH.

Service procurement

To gain access to ChatGPT, you must first order a license. Orders are handled by authorized purchasers  at the schools through the ITA - Ordering portal .

Cost

If you use ChatGPT features that require credits, an additional cost will apply. This includes, for example, image generation, ChatGPT 5.1 Thinking, and ChatGPT 5.1 Pro. Billing is based on the credit consumption specified here.

The cost for used credits is invoiced annually in arrears and is charged to the user’s home organization. At present, only administrators can view users’ credit consumption - users themselves do not have access to this information.
