Lost hardware

Information about what you need to do in case your KTH owned hardware such as computer, phone, or tablet has been lost so that KTH can block and lock the hardware.

Checklist for lost hardware:

In the event of theft of KTH-owned digital devices, see information on the security department's webpages: In case of theft, break-in, or vandalism

  • Report the incident to your immediate supervisor
  • Change your KTH account password if you have another device to do it on, Change password
  • Change your network secret for Wi-Fi network by creating a new one, Retrieve existing or create a new eduroam network secret
  • Change your personal account password such as Google, Apple ID, etc. if you had these connected to the lost hardware
  • Notify KTH IT Support about the lost computer, it-support@kth.se . In the e-mail, please send the following information:
    • School you work at
    • Whether it is a desktop or laptop computer that has been lost
    • If it is a platform computer (KTH Windows, KTH Mac or KTH Ubuntu) or if the computer is self-managed
    • Computer name or serial number if you have that information
  • Notify Teleservice about the lost phone or tablet, so that they can block the SIM card and device at Tele2, Lock your SIM-card
  • Delete the ost device (phone or tablet) via KTH Webmail, Wipe a lost mobile devices through KTH Webmail
