Workshop: Question based learning with generative AI
Welcome to a hands-on workshop where you, as a teacher, will explore pQBL – Pure Question Based Learning, a method that puts questions at the center.
Time: Mon 2025-06-02 15.00 - 16.30
Video link: Zoom
Language: English
Participating: E-learning, Olle Bälter, Ric Glassey
Purpose
We will explore how question-based learning can enhance your teaching. With pQBL, you get an approach that saves time while making teaching more engaging for your students – and more enjoyable for you as a teacher.
For those who are curious, there will be an opportunity to test how generative AI – such as ChatGPT – can be used as a tool to get started with formulating questions or structuring teaching elements.
You will work practically and at your own pace, based on your own questions and needs, with guidance along the way. The goal is to leave the workshop with foundational material for good questions and with knowledge of how to move forward.
During the workshop, you will:
- Get an introduction to pQBL – what it is and how you can use it in your teaching.
- Discuss what makes a good question in the context of your own course.
- Create question-based material based on your course content.
- Try generative AI as support in question-driven learning.
- See examples of how AI can help you formulate questions and develop teaching ideas.
Preparation
To be able to partake in the workshop you need to do the following:
- Bring digital course material that you want to use as a basis for creating questions, a description of the course and the intended learning outcomes.
We also recommend you to do the following:
- Register for the workshop by filling in the registration form .
- Complete “UNIT 4 QBL from a course developer perspective” in the short course on question-based learning: Question-based learning 22.09 (OLI Torus) .
