For continuous skills enhancement and sustainable faculty development
KTH's efforts to develop educational activities have now been given a direction in the change program
Future Education
. The program has a framework of 13 principles that are clustered in 5 areas. The area "Educational culture for quality" includes principle 10 - Continuous competence development for the teacher role - which is defined as follows:
"At KTH, the teacher role is characterised by continuous pedagogical and digital competence development that rests on a scientific basis and on proven pedagogical experience".
Other framework principles that most closely relate to this Priority group are:
- Principle 9 - A developing educational culture - also belongs to the domain "Educational culture for quality".
- Principle 13 - Integrated lifelong learning - belongs to the domain "External demands and societal needs".
To achieve sustainable faculty development
This Priority group focuses on discussing, problematizing and supporting the continuous upgrading of KTH teachers' skills to achieve smart, safe and sustainable faculty development.
The group is open to all within the Stockholm trio (KTH, SU and KI).
Case: Future Education
We will discuss how the work of the Education for the Future program can be perceived as meaningful, authentic, reasonable and trustworthy by teachers and implemented through participation and collaboration.
About Priority groups on Educational Issues (PriU)
PriU groups are KTH's cross-school and cross-functional working groups that are formed based on thematized development areas. Together with the Storträffen, they form part of the KTH-wide networks and forums that aim to strengthen cooperation, exchange of experience and continuous quality enhancement of KTH's education.
