Nominate honorary doctors for 2026

Honorary doctors are appointed to honor individuals who have made significant contributions to society and promoted the activities at KTH. Honorary doctors are very important for KTH and who is appointed as honorary doctors has great symbolic value. Therefore, efforts are needed from all parts of KTH to identify and nominate candidates within KTH's entire field of activity.

Guiding criteria for eligibility:

• Person active outside Sweden who, within KTH's field of activity through significant collaboration, has promoted the activities at KTH.
• Person within the country who within KTH's field of activity has made their own extensive research efforts, professional contributions or other societal contributions.
• It is desirable that the person has a clear connection to KTH.

Employees at KTH are welcome to nominate honorary doctors until 19 October 2025.

In 2025, Gunilla Franzén, with connection to the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering, was appointed honorary doctor at KTH.
