New role description established for Director of Studies, First and Second Cycle Education

The Head of School has decided to establish a common role description for all Directors of Studies, First and Second Cycle Education. The role description will take effect on September 1, 2024.
Each department should have at least one Director of Studies with institution-wide responsibility for the function. The function can be organized at division level if it better suits the organization. Each department has the opportunity to expand the Director of Studies' role with additional tasks beyond the basic assignment if needed.
The job description includes, among other things:
- Planning and coordinating teaching at the department for the courses the department is responsible for. Supporting the program director(s) with the development of the curriculum and academic year plan, if needed.
- Coordinating the department's courses within lifelong learning.
- Supporting the Head of Department in their tasks related to KTH's quality system.
