New Partner Director appointed for strategic partnership with the City of Stockholm

Jenny Paulsson  looks forward to commencing the work in her new role. - "It feels great to have the role of Partner Director for such an important collaboration partner as the city of Stockholm. One purpose of this collaboration is to help increase understanding in both organizations of future needs and challenges, and find ways to address them together. The way to get there is through an open and active dialogue and close cooperation. I hope that we will be able to create more joint projects, co-publications and educational collaborations around areas that are strategically important for both the City of Stockholm and for KTH."

Examples of ongoing collaborations with the City of Stockholm at the ABE school

Senseable Stockholm Lab  is a collaboration between KTH, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the City of Stockholm with support from the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce and Newsec. The universities join forces with the City of Stockholm to explore new dimensions of a smart city, including multimodal mobility, energy production and efficiency, environmental monitoring, water and waste management, public health and governance and more. The lab was launched on April 12, 2019.

WaterCentre@KTH  (KTH Vattencentrum) is a platform for innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration across scientific and organisational boundaries. The centre started in February 2017 with funding from KTH in collaboration with the City of Stockholm, IVL Swedish Environmental Institute and Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI). The centre's mission is to bring about water innovations for a sustainable future of the Earth. It connects scientists who never would have met and offer an arena for joint knowledge creation with industry, government and civil society.

In an annual dialogue with the management at KTH and each partner, needs and areas of cooperation are identified that contribute to the benefit of both parties.
