Plan and collaborate
You increase the chances of getting your desired message through structured and well-thought-out content.
Plan your work
Planning your time and content will ensure information is updated, helping maintain the website's quality.
Make an overview of the pages you are responsible for on the websites. In the overview, include a list of the person(s) responsible for the content of each page so that you can quickly contact the right person when needed or refer to them.
Create new content
When creating new pages, it is helpful to:
- think about whether the information needs to be on the web
- make sure the content is not more extensive than necessary for the target audience
- search the website for other pages that might cover the same topic and link to them instead of duplicating information
- prioritise content that stays relevant for a more extended period to avoid unnecessary updates and save time.
Collaborate with others
You often collaborate with other parts of the organisation as a web editor. You are part of the KTH editorial organisation, which means that you are in contact with content owners, content managers and other editors, in addition to the colleagues in your area of activity.
Regular contact with content owners lets you discover what is happening within the organisation. This will help you ensure that the information you work with is up-to-date and accurate.
The dialogue with content owners also ensures you receive content quickly. This will make it easier for you to plan and allocate the time you need to work on the web.
When you unpublish outdated pages and files, you do so in consultation with the content owner and the content manager of the part of the website you are working on.
