Login protected content

A large part of KTH's website is open to anyone. Sometimes there is a need to protect certain content with a login.

Although there may be good reasons that only certain users, such as employees at KTH, access content, it is good to be aware of the consequences of restricting the access.

Types of content

It can be a good idea to protect content that should not be accessible to external parties. However, it should not be restricted for confidentiality reasons, as it is not secure enough to be classified. Our website should also not be used as an archive for restricted information.

Content behind login must also live up to the requirements of the Act on Accessibility to Digital Public Services.

Searchability

The restricted content will also not be exposed and searchable. That makes the content more difficult to find, even for the target group.

If access needs to be limited, you should publish a public page containing essential keywords so that the users can find it.
