Jaldén appointed as new head of EECS
Professor of signal processing Joakim Jaldén has been appointed as the new head of the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS). He will take up his post at the turn of the year, when the current Head of School, Ann Lantz, steps down.
"I am delighted to have appointed Joakim Jaldén as the new head of the EECS school. The nomination/election committee has done a very thorough job of identifying candidates who meet the requirements profile and who also have strong roots within the school. He will be a great asset to EECS and KTH as a whole and I look forward to welcoming him to KTH's management team at the beginning of the year," said Anders Söderholm, President of KTH.
EECS gains a Head of School in Joakim Jaldén with a solid research background and long-standing strong ties to KTH and the school, including his role as vice-chair of the faculty board in recent years.
"I look forward to starting the new year in a new role that will benefit KTH and EECS. I have made no secret of the fact that I am keen to take on this role, and I am taking the support that colleagues and students have expressed along the way with me into the Christmas holidays. It gives me energy to get started with the work after the New Year," says Joakim Jaldén.
