Personal safety

Personal security primarily focuses on preventing, deterring, and managing adversarial security incidents directed at KTH staff and students. The aim is to create a safe and secure working and study environment.

Personal security refers to threats, violence, or unauthorized influence, as well as intelligence threats. As part of the mission, it also includes providing security recommendations before, during, and after international travel. Personal security is also an integral part of the planning and execution process for public events organized by KTH.

Significant resources are dedicated to both internal and external collaboration to create favorable conditions for security work and to develop shared situational awareness of current problem areas. The department may also assist with background checks, for example, during recruitment processes.

Personal security work is closely coordinated with other internal security areas, primarily physical security.
